Last night saw the official launch for Father Rabbit’s new store at Bloc, Mount Eden, a space dedicated to a collaboration of design focused brands. I have to admit that I got so caught up chatting to everyone and having a great time last night that I’m really glad I thought to pop in earlier in the day to take some photos of the new store for you.
For my overseas readers, or perhaps those that haven’t yet experienced Father Rabbit, it’s one of those stores that you walk into and wish that you could take everything home with you. It gets you dreaming about freshly pressed sheets, baking a cake the old fashioned way and picking up a pen and writing a thank you note to your hosts.
It’s quite remarkable how quickly Father Rabbit has grown. Since his conception, he has gone from online store, to quant store attached to a home, to his most recent burrow at Bloc and he has certainly matured into one fine rabbit. Claudia, the owner and an Interior Designer by trade, designed the shop fit out which includes the sweetest little guesthouse for My Tropical Princess Friend, a recent colourful concept to the store, quite different to the usual fresh whites. Apparently Father Rabbit is quite fond of his colourful friend, however he does see that the bursts of colour stay in that area for others to enjoy before stepping back out into the soothing whites.
If you’re in Auckland, make sure you pop in to say hello and if you’re not quite close enough, Father Rabbit’s online store is still quite an experience and ships worldwide.
Have a great weekend everyone!
