    A Spontaneous Night Away

    March 15, 2013 | Accommodation, Close To My Heart | 8 Comments »

My parents are staying with us this week so we’ve decided to have a spontaneous night away. No dinner to cook, sticky hands and mouths to clean and a sleep in! A real break.

Hopefully in the not too distant future and when I can bare to be separated from my children for a good length of time, I think I’ll make my way back to Santorini with Guillaume. I spent three months in the Greek Islands before we met in 1997 and Santorini would have to be on the top of my list of places to go back to, especially as a couple. They have an abundance of beautifully appointed five star boutique accommodation in keeping with the quintessential whitewashed stone buildings with mediterranean blue trimmings. Most of them have the most spectacular views of the Aegean Sea. I remember as a young traveller, walking along looking into the private oasis’ of these hotels all those years ago and thinking “one day”.

So to finish the week, a little dreaming for all of us because I can’t think of anyone who would refuse a week staying at The Grace Hotel Santorini.

Fresh white walls and elegant furnishings compliment the typical architecture of the island.

You’ve spent the day walking through ancient cobble lanes of Thira, now it’s time to unwind in your private plunge pool…

Or perhaps you’d prefer to make use of the hotel’s infinity pool?

Where ever you are in the hotel, you’re bound to experience these incredible views…

Have a relaxing weekend everyone and see you on Monday!

This brings happiness to my soul. We were just there for our honeymoon this past summer and I’ve spent my summers in Greece growing up. Such a magical place. Enjoy your “day away”!

Oh, relax! Having a time out should be mandatory from time to time! :-)
